Act as key point of contact for the Venture Capital Forum and other VC related forums to ensure that these meetings focus on priority areas and help to shape engagement with policy makers on behalf of venture capital firms.
Involvement in projects related to Venture Capital which may include, among others:
Supporting and developing understanding on policy areas that particularly relate to VC (e.g. tax, regulation) or portfolio companies (e.g. deals, technology policy).
Taking forward stakeholder engagement (e.g. organise, host and minute VC roundtables) on specific policy or industry topics.
Lead on EIS/VCT Subcommittee and working closely with Committee Chair to identify agenda & policy issues as well as Senior Policy Executive on technical/tax related areas
Lead on cross departmental policy work in key areas including AI and life sciences, and help inform wider engagement (e.g. R&D tax policy).
Contributing to UK Private Capital policy communications and publications, including:
Lead on the drafting and coordination of the Venture Capital Update newsletter – a monthly summary of UK Private Capital activities, which is sent to over 2000 people.
Drafting and coordinating VC related content for other publications, including the weekly Private Capital Update newsletter and third-party publications.
Taking ownership of VC related content on webpages, ensuring content is relevant, up to date and engaging.
Work with the Head of VC and the membership team to articulate and communicate the value of membership to UK Private Capital members and recruit new members, working to membership growth targets
Work with the Head of VC and the membership team to maintain records of VC member engagement, and potential members.
Essential Skills/Experience
Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills with a keen attention to detail.
Interest in policy and VC developments with ability to understand industry “jargon” and learn new concepts.
Confident user of tools including CRM.
Professional email and telephone manner.
Proficiency in the use of MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Co-Pilot and PowerPoint.
Good written skills and confident speaker.
Collaborative and consultative approach and a strong work ethic.

Contribute to the progression of work to deliver UK Private Capital’s commitments to members and key stakeholders
Organising, recording on CRM and tracking work related to VC member engagement in the and non-member outreach
Additional support for the Head of Venture Capital, membership team, policy team and external affairs teams on strategic and membership engagement matters.
Communications, publications & events: Take responsibility for co-ordinating and drafting the Venture Capital Update newsletter, as well as other policy and technical updates (both the monthly & bi-annual publications) and contributions to the weekly Private Capital Update newsletter.

Set up meetings with and provide updates to VC firms.
Work with colleagues to ensure CRM is up-to-date.
Update the committees and advisory group and policy pages on UK Private Capital’s website and monitoring of additional committee inboxes.

Working with all other teams to ensure the VC workstreams are understood and shared with members and other external stakeholders.
Develop new and existing relationships with key stakeholders, with support from colleagues to communicate the work of UK Private Capital and outline areas for at are important to our industry and members.
Working with events and marketing teams on VC events e.g. Accelerate Conference.
Build profile through events/conferences and online through producing content and promoting on platforms such as LinkedIn.

Ensure stretching developmental objectives are set for self, which align with the association’s wider vision.
