Dowds Group is seeking a BIM Coordinator to support the successful delivery of building services projects through high-quality digital coordination and modelling.
This role is responsible for producing coordinated, installable designs across mechanical, electrical, and public health services, ensuring compliance with project specifications, BIM standards, and programme requirements.
You will work closely with project and design teams to develop coordinated models that support efficient offsite manufacturing and installation on projects typically ranging from £2m–£50m across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and energy.
What you'll be responsible for
Coordinate MEP services using industry-standard BIM tools to produce accurate and installable designs
Develop installation and fabrication drawings in line with project specifications and BIM execution plans
Deliver coordinated models for major services routes, risers, and plantrooms
Ensure all modelling reflects procured equipment data to support material take-offs and prefabrication
Apply BIM best practices and quality checking procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency
Interpret consultant design information to produce coordinated, buildable solutions
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment across all project stages
Maintain compliance with CDM regulations, company processes, and relevant industry standards
Support programme delivery by managing priorities and meeting project deadlines
What we are looking for
Essential
ONC (or equivalent) in Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
Previous experience in a BIM Coordination or similar role within building services
Strong working knowledge of BIM software including Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
Experience coordinating mechanical, electrical, and public health services
Understanding of coordination principles for plantrooms, risers, and distribution routes
Ability to interpret technical design and project specifications to produce coordinated outputs
Understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and their application within design coordination
Awareness of access, maintenance, and buildability considerations
Desirable
Awareness of offsite manufacturing / DfMA approaches
Broader understanding of how coordination impacts system performance (e.g., resistances, plant duties)
Ability to add value through continuous improvement of BIM processes
