We're an early-stage venture firm and venture studio partnering with ambitious founders building category-defining AI and technology companies. Beyond investing, we work alongside founders to validate ideas, build products, accelerate growth, and help exceptional teams build enduring companies. As a General Partner, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of 16VC. You'll lead investments, build relationships with exceptional founders, contribute to fund strategy, and help define how we discover, back, and support the next generation of AI startups. The Role We're looking for an experienced investor and ecosystem leader to join 16VC as a General Partner. This is a leadership role for someone with a strong investment track record, deep founder relationships, and the ability to identify transformative technology companies before they become obvious. You'll help shape our investment strategy, represent the firm globally, and work closely with founders from first meeting through company building and scale. What You'll Do Lead sourcing and execution of early-stage investments across AI, SaaS, fintech, and emerging technologies. Develop investment theses around high-conviction markets and technology trends. Build long-term relationships with founders, operators, investors, universities, and startup ecosystems. Lead due diligence, valuation discussions, and investment recommendations. Serve on portfolio company boards or as a strategic advisor where appropriate. Mentor founders on fundraising, hiring, product strategy, go-to-market, and company building. Partner closely with the Venture Studio to identify and launch new companies. Represent 16VC at industry events, conferences, demo days, and global startup communities. Help shape the firm's investment strategy, brand, and long-term vision. Support fundraising efforts and relationships with Limited Partners (LPs). Location & Work Style Remote-first Work from anywhere with strong overlap across global teams. Frequent travel required Regular travel to startup hubs, including New York City, San Francisco, London, Bengaluru, and Berlin, is expected for founder meetings, investment opportunities, ecosystem events, portfolio support, and LP meetings. Required Experience Non-Negotiable 8+ years of experience in venture capital, private equity, startup leadership, or entrepreneurship. Proven experience leading venture investments from sourcing through exit or significant follow-on funding. Strong network across founders, investors, operators, and the global startup ecosystem. Demonstrated track record of identifying and backing high-potential technology companies. Preferred Background Previous experience as a General Partner, Partner, Principal, or senior investment professional at a venture capital firm. Founder or executive leadership experience at a high-growth technology company. Deep expertise in AI, enterprise software, fintech, developer tools, infrastructure, or frontier technologies. Experience working with institutional investors or Limited Partners. What We're Looking For Exceptional investment judgment and commercial instincts. Strong founder empathy and long-term relationship building. Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to company building. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. High integrity, curiosity, and ownership. Passion for helping ambitious founders build category-defining companies. What You'll Get Shape the strategy and future of a new venture firm from the ground up. Work alongside exceptional founders building the next generation of AI companies. Influence investment decisions, venture creation, and firm operations. Access a global network of founders, investors, and operators. Competitive compensation with meaningful long-term upside and carry participation, where applicable.
