The project: As the private business unit continues to expand, we are searching for an inspirational Senior HSW Manager to support our growth strategy. We are looking for an individual who has HSW consultancy experience across Corporate Real Estate projects and programmes. The Senior HSW Manager will support our client's programmes, projects and operational activities by embedding a “Safety First” approach, promoting holistic management of health, safety, wellbeing, environment and quality (HSEQ) risks across diverse property, regeneration and urban assets. The role supports legal compliance, drives cultural improvement, and promotes innovative approaches to occupational health, wellbeing, and risk management. You’ll be responsible for: Health, safety and wellbeing leadership Implementing and championing the client's safety-first strategy, ensuring wellbeing is prioritised alongside safety. Providing expert HSW guidance to project teams, operations staff, development teams and supply‑chain partners. Promoting a positive safety and wellbeing culture, ensuring mental health considerations are embedded in all activities. As requested, attend site to undertake verification and identify any non-conformances and improvements with the on-site management, follow-up with written observations, photographs for the formal site inspection report. Copy all reports to relevant internal Client stakeholders. Where found stop any “imminent danger” activities immediately. Supporting stand-down reviews and provide recommendations on proposed plans to allow works to resume, monitoring and check agreed control measures are in operation. Compliance and risk management Maintaining compliance with all relevant health, safety, security, environmental and wellbeing legislation applicable to the client's portfolio. Managing or supporting risk assessments using recognised methodologies (e.g., HAZOP, Bow‑Tie analysis, High-risk reviews). Attending project review as requested to support HSW reviews and provide guidance and support. Managing HSW risks across regeneration, development, acquisitions and operational activities. HSW systems and governance Maintaining, improving and embedding HSEQ management systems that meet UK regulatory requirements. Working with the Project Managers to achieve compliance with RiskWise and monitor compliance and mitigation measures. Overseeing incident reporting and investigations; ensure lessons learned and corrective actions are implemented. Supporting internal/external audits and reporting on HSW performance. Stakeholder engagement Working closely with internal teams, regeneration partners and external stakeholders to manage community and operational HSW risks Providing clear communication on HSW expectations, standards and responsibilities. Continuous improvement and innovation Identifying and introduce technical and digital innovations that improve health, safety and wellbeing outcomes. Developing strategies to improve long‑term health outcomes, including occupational hygiene and surveillance programmes. Benchmarking performance and drive ongoing improvements in project and operational safety management. Training and capability development Identifying HSW training needs for project and operational teams; coordinate delivery of training programmes. Providing coaching and guidance to help teams implement effective HSW practices.
