We are looking for a Junior Clerk to join our established clerking team, supporting the smooth delivery of chambers operations across the national practice. This is a hybrid role, with flexibility around office and home working and would be based in the Manchester office. As a Junior Clerk, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of DWF Chambers. Working closely with the Senior Clerk and the clerking team, you will help coordinate barristers’ diaries, manage bookings and listings, and support client interactions. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone organised, proactive, and keen to develop a career as a Barristers Clerk. You will gain exposure to a broad range of clerking responsibilities and develop strong commercial and operational skills within a supportive team environment. Responsibilities Maintain and organise barristers’ diaries, including scheduling hearings, appointments, and managing court listings. Respond to queries from clients and solicitors in a professional and timely manner. Agree fees with clients and process billing using internal systems. Build and maintain effective relationships with solicitors and legal professionals. Support business development activity, including attending networking events. Work collaboratively with the clerking team while also managing tasks independently. What will help you succeed in this role? Essential Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Good attention to detail and accuracy. Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and databases. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Desirable Previous experience in a clerking role or a similar administrative / coordination position. Familiarity with legal processes, chambers environments, or court listings. Experience using LEX or similar case / practice management systems. What we offer?
