PLEASE NOTE THIS POST IS ONLY OPEN TO INTERNAL APPLICANTS  Organisation: Leicestershire County Council Work Location:  Oakfield HBEP (Glenfield), Glenfield Annexe, Station Road, LE3 8BQ (Glenfield but some travel will be necessary between sites) Salary: L8-12 - £61,534 -£67,898 per annum (Pro rata for part time) Working Hours: Full time  Contract Type: Permanent Closing Date: 9th July 2026 Interview Date(s): TBC About the Role Oakfield Short Stay School is Leicestershire’s provision for school aged children who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of permanent exclusion from school. We have expanded the age range of Oakfield School and as a result we are recruiting staff, therefore, you will be part of a vital team in an exciting period of development, working with us to meet the needs of children who struggle to manage in mainstream and need a different offer of education to secure their successful next steps.  Role Overview: This role is to provide strategic and operational leadership for teaching, learning and assessment across the Secondary phase of Oakfield Short Stay School, ensuring that assessment systems are effective, robust and used to evidence pupil progress from individual starting points. The postholder will support high standards of teaching and learning through quality assurance, coaching, CPD, appraisal and line management of ECTs, UQTs and relevant support staff. The role will contribute to the effective inclusion, safeguarding, health and safety, attendance, behaviour and reintegration of pupils, working collaboratively with school leaders, staff, parents/carers, Leicestershire schools, the Local Authority Inclusion Team and external agencies to secure positive outcomes for vulnerable and excluded pupils. About You To apply for this post, you must: * Several years of experience in a  Significant experience in working in the Education Sector Secondary setting and/or specialist setting.
